About Rapid Access
Rapid Access is Maxar’s online solution for access to geospatial data, including your organization’s private imagery collections. The Rapid Access platform enables streaming and downloading of current and historical electro-optical (EO) and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imagery from Maxar and other providers, basemaps, and geospatial products for a wide variety of use cases.
Rapid Access offers several ways to securely access content, including an easy-to-use web interface and integration with third-party tools, like ArcGIS. The Rapid Access web interface allows you to identify the best available images for your area of interest, and then view and download them in the format that integrates most efficiently with your workflow.
The most current imagery delivered by the Maxar constellation can be hosted by Rapid Access and is referred to as “online imagery.” Rapid Access typically adds 800 – 1,000 new image strips – equaling 1 – 1.5 million sq km in coverage – each day. Online imagery follows these guidelines for image production and hosting:
Cloud Cover 50% equatorial, 35% outside equatorial
Off-Nadir Angle 0–35°
Digital elevation models (DEMs) used for orthorectification
SRTM 90 m
USGS National Elevation Dataset (NED) 30 m over CONUS & Alaska, NED 10 m over Hawaii
InterMap World 30 m (ASTER-based) north of 60°
